Coming from a family of fishermen, Captain Eryk’s passion started at the young age of four with the tug of a Snapper Bluefish on Long Island Sound in CT, where he grew up. At the age of 14, while shark fishing on a charter with his dad in Martha’s Vineyard, he met the First Mate. Another young boy his same age. It was at that moment he knew fishing and becoming a charter captain was what he wanted to dedicate his life and career to.
And that’s exactly what he did...
Starting as First Mate at the age of 17 on private charters and head boats in CT and New York, Captain Eryk quickly rose to Head Mate. At 19, he obtained his U.S.C.G. Captain’s License, packed a duffle bag of shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops, and headed south. He landed in Key West, Florida. One of the best places in the world for sport fishing. Here, Captain Eryk ran a center console sport fishing boat with one of the largest charter companies in Key West, instantly becoming known for his knack of “finding and mapping" fishing grounds that produced fish for his charter clients every trip: Mutton Snapper, Yellow Tail Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Grouper, Mahi-Mahi, Shark, Cobia, Kingfish, Wahoo, and the pinnacle of every sport fisherman’s dream: Sailfish. This ability earned him the nickname Captain Sherlock, the fictional character Sherlock Holmes!
Deciding to leave Key West, Captain Eryk headed north to West Palm Beach, where he currently resides with his girlfriend who also grew up on Florida waters. Captain Eryk continues to add to his resume, notably the art of kite fishing the blue water. And out in the deep blue? Another sport fisherman’s dream: Swordfish.
And Captain Eryk's passion continues…
